The Skywalk, a horseshoe-shaped glass bridge sticking out 4000 feet above the bottom of the Grand Canyon, opened to the press and special guests on March 20, 2007. We managed to get out there for the event, armed with a video camera to capture the moment when Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin took the “First Walk” on the specially engineered glass surface and met the Hualapai tribe that owns it.

Guantanamo Bay a Caribbean vacation resort for terrorist

March 14, 2010 · Filed Under Travel Videos · Comment

The United States of America (USA), in its war on terror, encountered enemy combatants in Afghanistan and Iraq. These people, who want to slit your throat, wore no uniforms, represented no nation, just a desire to hate and murder. In an attempt to isolate these thugs from civilized people, the USA awarded these bums with a Caribbean vacation in Cuba, the US base, Guantanamo Bay, better known as Gitmo. At this resort they are provided with food, attire, and religious observances with respect to their native culture. They are afforded exercise equipment, clothing, and beautiful women guards. Remember now, these are non-US citizens, who desire to slit your throat. In the US state of Arizona, in Maricopa County, the countys detention facilities are operated by Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Sheriff houses these US citizen detainees in the desert in tents. They wear pink underwear, pink shirts, and stripe pants. They are not fed the food such as is fed to the detainees at Gitmo, they are fed baloney sandwiches. In The Dallas Morning News it was reported that some European nations are considering to cooperate with the incoming Obama administration and allow the Gitmo vacationing terrorist to enter Europe. Great reward for the vacationing terrorist, now they will be rewarded with a European vacation

The Grand Canyon (HV30)

January 7, 2010 · Filed Under Travel Videos · Comment

This is just some footage I took while on vacation in Arizona. It was shot on a Canon HV30 in 24p and in Cinemode. I captured to an external drive via FCP 5.1.4 and then removed pulldown with JES Deinterlacer. Then did a little bit of sloppy color correction and editing in Final Cut and exported for Vimeo and Youtube using compressor. The song is “28 Ghosts IV” off of the album “Ghosts” by NIN. I realize some of the shots are pretty shaky, sorry about that. I didnt really feel like steadying …

www.pbs.org For writer Ruth Kirk, one of the best ways to truly experience the Grand Canyon is to float down the Colorado River and view the magnificent canyon from within. In Ken Burns’s newest film, THE NATIONAL PARKS: AMERICA’S BEST IDEA, premiering Sunday-Friday, September 27-October 2, 2009, she describes the impact the Grand Canyon has had on her and why she is always struck by its beauty. 21 Miles: Hiking the Hermit Trail, Grand Canyon, Ariz.

December 31, 2009 · Filed Under Travel Videos · Comment

A strenuous trail for experienced Grand Canyon hikers, I hiked the Hermit Trail from Hermit’s Rest to Granite Rapids and back. *There’s another part to my story, someone who was in the background, but the reason behind my successful solo hike. Eric Stanley, a supervisor at the Grand Canyon General Store and top-notch in wilderness and adventure sports, advised me — especially on how much water was needed for a trail like this. He loaned me some of his gear, saving me on costly rentals. He …
