Granda Canyon trip USA 2004

The Skywalk, a horseshoe-shaped glass bridge sticking out 4000 feet above the bottom of the Grand Canyon, opened to the press and special guests on March 20, 2007. We managed to get out there for the event, armed with a video camera to capture the moment when Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin took the “First Walk” on the specially engineered glass surface and met the Hualapai tribe that owns it.

My wife and I went on a West Rim Grand Canyon rapids trip while on vacation in Las Vegas. This was the ride we took to get back to the bus to take us back to our hotel. We we ended up at the end of the rapid ride was 30 miles away from any point a truck could get to us, so the only 2 ways to get to the bus was either raft another 40 miles downstream or take a helicopter 30 miles up to the Indian reservation. For Me this was my first flight ever and I was nervous, but once up in the clouds and seeing the view, I loved it! Hubby’s dream was to see the Grand Canyon. I surprised him with the trip when he retired after 40 years of hard labor.
