Thai political unrest keeps tourists away – 21 April 2009
The continuing political instability in Thailand is hurting the country’s economy, which relies heavily on tourism dollars. The crucial industry makes up five per cent of GDP and employs some two million Thais, but officials are expecting four million fewer tourists this year.
